Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
At Parkview Nursery School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our vision is to enrich every child's learning and experiences, enabling them to become confident, capable and independent learners. We recognise that children from disadvantaged backgrounds can face additional barriers to learning and development, and we are determined to provide the support needed to help them achieve their full potential.
The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) provides additional funding to support children whose families meet specific eligibility criteria. This funding is used to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children and reduce gaps in attainment.
This report outlines how the EYPP funding was used during the 2025-26academic year, the impact it had on children's outcomes, and our planned strategy for 2026-27.

Impact of Funding
Children's progress was measured through ongoing assessment and tracking against age-related expectations (ARE) within the Prime Areas of Learning.
| Prime Area | On Entry | End of Year |
|---|---|---|
| Personal, Social and Emotional Development | 1/19 | 11/19 |
| Communication and Language | 1/19 | 13/19 |
| Physical Development | 7/19 | 18/19 |
The EYPP cohort made strong progress from their individual starting points across all Prime Areas of Learning.
Significant improvements were evident in children's personal, social and emotional development, with the number of children working at age-related expectations increasing from 1 out of 19 on entry to 11 out of 19 by the end of the academic year. This reflects the positive impact of targeted support, nurturing relationships and opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
Communication and Language outcomes also improved considerably, increasing from 1 out of 19 children achieving age-related expectations on entry to 13 out of 19 children by the end of the year. Focused small-group activities, high-quality adult interactions and targeted language interventions supported children to make strong progress in this area.
In Physical Development, the number of children achieving age-related expectations increased from 7 out of 19 to 18 out of 19. Opportunities for active play, outdoor learning experiences and targeted support helped children develop the physical skills required for successful learning and development.
Overall, the EYPP funding has enabled eligible children to access additional support, enrichment opportunities and targeted interventions that have had a positive impact on their progress, wellbeing and readiness for future learning. The improvements seen across all Prime Areas of Learning demonstrate the effectiveness of the school's approach to supporting disadvantaged children and reducing barriers to achievement.
