Home Learning

Parents are a child's first and most enduring educator.  The impact of a child's home environment and the way parents support their child's learning is really important.
On this page we will share a few ideas for simple activities that you can do at home with your child to support their development.

The most important thing that you can do is talk to your child. Try and have some time every day when you switch off the TV, put away any mobiles and tablets and have a few minutes playing with your child talking about what they are doing.  You could go for a walk and talk about the things you see out and about, you could cuddle up on the sofa and share a book together, you don't have to read it word for word just talk about the pictures.  Sing some nursery rhymes with your child, ask at school if you need some help with the words! These simple things make a big difference to your child's language development.

During your child's time at Parkview they will bring home a book every day to share with you.  They will also at times bring home a 'Learning backpack' this will contain a simple activity for you to do with your child and ideas for other things you can do at home to support their learning.  Please follow the links below for more information on our home learning backpacks.
